Blue Cherry Cottage is ideally placed for exploring the beautiful Eden Valley and eastern Lake District. The surrounding area offers excellent walking and hiking, from gentle countryside and riverside walks to more challenging fell routes around Ullswater and the Lake District.
For cycling, Penrith is a designated Cycling Hub, with routes for all abilities, including the famous C2C (Sea to Sea) route and scenic rides towards Lowther, Pooley Bridge and Ullswater.
Water activities are also easily accessible, particularly at Ullswater, where visitors can enjoy sailing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing and boat hire, or simply take a scenic cruise aboard the Ullswater Steamer.
There are plenty of other outdoor adventures nearby too, including waterfalls, climbing, caving, horse riding and mountain biking, while attractions such as Lowther Castle and Gardens provide a great option for a more relaxed day out.
